VACCINATION

Couples who cannot have a baby within a year despite regular unprotected sexual intercourse can be called infertile couples. The infertile couple is investigated as a couple. Diagnosis can be made by examination, ultrasonography in women, and by uterine film and spermiogram test in men. In the event that there is very little or no sperm in the semen after the first-line examinations are performed, or both of the fallopian tubes are closed, they should immediately undergo in vitro fertilization treatment. In other cases, if there is no problem with sperm and the woman’s fallopian tubes are observed to be open on the uterus film after the first step examinations are performed, depending on the duration of the marriage and the age of the couple, egg tracking and ovulation follow-up can be started, and vaccination treatment can be started.

Intrauterine insemination therapy, also known as vaccination, is a frequently preferred initial treatment for couples who cannot have a baby. Of course, some elements are very important in vaccination treatment. In the vaccination treatment, sperm are examined in detail in terms of the number, movement, structure in the sperm, and anti-sperm antibodies in the semen sample taken.

Vaccination is a natural method, only sperm is prepared in the laboratory and after about two hours of preparation, 0.5-1 cc sperm is injected into the uterus painlessly and achelessly with the help of a thin plastic catheter. A cracking injection has been made before, the cracked egg and the sperm injected during vaccination meet in the tubes, and if the sperm fertilizes the egg, it forms the embryo and makes its way to the uterus. If the embryo attaches to the uterine wall, pregnancy occurs. For vaccination treatment, there should be no problems with the tubes, at least the tubes must be open. It is very important that the tubes are open and the shape of the uterus. If the sperm count is above 5 million, it will increase the positive results.

How does the process progress in vaccination treatment?

Vaccination treatment starts with needles in order to select eggs in order to ensure the growth of the existing eggs of the expectant mother on the second or third day of menstruation. The growth of approximately 1-3 follicles is expected and desired. When it reaches the desired sizes, that is, about 17-20 mm, the cracking of the mature eggs is provided with the cracking needle.

How many days does the vaccination treatment take? Is there a time difference between IVF treatment and vaccination?

As in IVF treatment, the duration of drug use in vaccination treatment is approximately 10-12 days. Then, if we count the cracking needle and grafting, it takes about 15 days.

What is the difference between vaccination treatment and IVF treatment?

In both cases, drug therapy is started at the same time. Even though the number of days the drug is used is the same, the difference in the treatment process is that only sperm are taken and injected into the mother-to-be in vaccination, while eggs are collected from the mother-to-be in the IVF treatment, fertilization is ensured in the laboratory environment and injected into the mother’s uterus.
